Dear ladies and gentlemen,

i'm glad to announce the rebirth of the Station Iowa Project.

 

There are major changes which will be done on this map.

No more table-dancing on the Ops ;-) (Insider Joke)

 

A major change will be the rereplacement of the Ops from RC3 to RC1 and the rereplacement of Shuttlebay from RC3 to something we used in beta which had to be removed because of the entity limit.

Some minor changes as texture replacements, inclunding newest features from RPG-X, changing of some desings like turbolift and much more.

 

And now i have some Screenshots for you.

The forward section of Ops and the areas between the turbolifts look a little barren. Perhaps some additional wall consoles would help? Aside from that, I'm very much liking these changes. Keep up the good work!

These screenshots are WIP and far from finished.

But thank for your feedback :)

Thanks, but at the moment we can't give an ETA while resetting all entities & scripts, rereplacement of shuttlebay, new textures and other changes.

Maybe in a few weeks/month I have more information for an ETA. But i will keep you up to date here.

Just an FYI, not sure if you'll be changing this already, or know about this already, but one of the consoles in the cargo bay is blank. Also, are there any plans for the science lab? At the moment it's only just a bank of consoles

Sorry for my question but what do you mean with "FYI"? I'm not really familiar with english shortcuts.

 

Yes, i already know that some consoles are blank, and sure its planned to put an LCARS on all these consoles.

But my graphics-design knowhow is only for walls, carpets, doors et cetera. LCARS is not really my department ;-)

FYI usually means For Your Information :)

 

And I didn't means the LCARS was blank, I meant the console was literally just a black screen, as though it had been turned off perhaps. I think it's the console that controls the lift, if that helps?

Yes i meant this with blank. An opaque glass texture is used as an LCARS-Placeholder ;)

Most consoles are "offline" cause i need lcars tex first for it who must be designed.

So, will the whole station be getting a makeover with that color scheme? That looks very nice. Also, are there plans to add displays or bulkhead panels to the corridor walls to make them a little less barren than the current release?

Yes, this color scheme will be used at the complete station. But it will take much time to create those lcars textures.

 

the corridors get more detail like handrail, alert lights who run in the direction where the turbolift is and panels on cross corridors if possible.

Will there be any new features this time around? Iowa was already an extremely advanced map, but it can never hurt to ask.

hm new features maybe. i have no ideas for new features at the moment but I'm always happy to suggestions.

 

the only one will be jeffries-tube access on each deck for an alternative to turbolift when it works.

I assume the two levels of the shuttlebay will have additional consoles in the final release? That's an excellent design. Very reminiscent of a flight deck. As for more features, Iowa was already one of the most advanced RPG-X maps, so it's very difficult to come up with ideas. Maybe add at least one breakable entity on each deck (other than 14, which already has one) to make battle damage more apparent? The hull breach is a great feature in the current release, and I'd love to be able to break more areas of the station.
