Only as busy-wait which you don't want to do.
I'll research ways to implement a pause function which will most require me to add multithreading to the Lua implementation as stopping all Lua operations on a call of pause would be a bit stupid wouldn't it?

Yes, it would. For the time being I'll just hold back and leave the code just commented out
