I was wondering if it would be feasible to implement a feature in which persons in the admin class would be able to change their location (as listed in the tab menu) from say "Bridge" to simply "Unknown" so wherever the admin in point would like to go, the tab menu would consistently display their location as "Unknown" until the admin chooses otherwise.

I know that it would be quite useful in various situations, but not something that I would say would be worth a lot of trouble if that is what it requires.

Some one (actually I'm thinking upwards of 20 people) have suggested this before, and we've all agreed it wouldn't be worth it, as 'stalking a n00b' isn't required. If someone is a n00b, you kick them.

Also if you forget to turn it off and there's one admin and two players on, if that admin is the CO, this would just throw the whole thing off with "Where is the Captain?" and "Why can I see you, but in the tab list it says 'unknown'? OMG U IS BOT!!! KICK!!!!"

But great to see people are still coming up with ideas though :)

You know, hiding your location is kind of useless, but the ability to have an admin change location of players would be useful in some sorts, like saying you're on some sort of away mission planet would be good, but not necessary.

It might be possible to do this but I'm not sure how exactly. Problem is that the new locations string has to be submitted to all players, usually locations are transmitted as part of the configstring. Locations are limited to 64. It might be possible to use unsused locations if a map uses less than 64 locations but custom locations then would only work as long as there are still unused locations avaible.
