We really need a Computer Software Section

Anyway

What are people thinking with Google Chrome OS? Will it change the way we use and think of the computer?

Personally I'm not thinking much of it currently as it includes hardware limitations where it will only work on certain configurations and the only thing you can do with it is browse the internet. While this is a good for cloud computing there are a few problems, you must have internet to use the OS and you have to trust the cloud to keep you data safe and intact. (Server go boom, you data go bye-bye)

Basicly to me its just a big internet browser and thats it, it feels very limited in what it can do.

I would probably download it to my netbook and then maybe run it if I felt like it sometime just for fun or tests... I wouldn't use it to replace anything.

My friend over the road loves it... it looks very simple.

A lot of people think that everything is heading on-line, but I'm still not sure. Every time I build a new computer it seems to take longer to install everything I need.
