A bland piece of boring piled on top of American Cheese on meat that tastes like bread in between two generous slices of bread that taste like paper money.

I just hate the game because they gimped the PC version's multiplayer and removed some PC exlusive controls (eg. leaning). Console ports ftl.

Quoted for the truth.

Despite repeated attempts at being talked into buying it, I have no intention of laying down £35 for this. Once it's price has dropped like a brick maybe, but not before.

I'd rather play Insurgency instead, which is saying something, considering it's free on Steam.

Yyyeeeeeahhhh.... it's a sequel of a sequel. I'm surprised no-one calls it CoD 4 2 XD

I have to admit, I'm totally dumbfounded at the hype around it. Those marketing d00ds did a bang-up job of making everyone want it. I think it even beat Halo 3's sales already.

I'll definitely get it. I saw it at my cousin's house, and the single player does look very nice. But of course, once it's not costing like 110 bucks AUD. XD

well, some ppl here in the US do call it CoD4 2....but the matter that i have with it, as a PC gamer is the matchmaking....dedicated servers plox...any way i like it...just a bit too much to unlock, and i see no point in the SPEC OPS portion

Ah yes, forgot about the extortionary price. Almost 20% more than any other FPS on the PC.

My brother got it so I was playing it on his Steam account. I got instantly bored of the extremely dull MP and was like, "I could be playing Quake Wars or Urban Terror right now, screw this."

So, since multiplayer is a completely moot point, I based my opinion on the singleplayer. And it's the most boring game I've played in years.

When the levels don't seem like they're repeating the same formula over and over, they are definitely repeating levels from CoD2007.

The AI the absolute worst since Doom. You have all these fancy animations of people hiding against walls, but that's only when they're scripted to. Every other piece of time you're playing the game, both friendlies and enemies just stand there and shoot or throw grenades. The missions are even more linear, disallowing half the combat tactics allowed in some of the most basic senses in other games. All of the tools of modern warfare, none of the tactics.

The only way I found this game to be difficult was the number of enemies. Are there really half a thousand fully armed terrorists in the slums of Rio de Janeiro.

I've heard the campaign mode is great. But I don't think that alone is worth $60 (compared to $50 with other PC games). Like Hocking, I'll probably purchase it when the price significantly drops.... or they fix the multiplayer and give a server list and dedicated servers (unlikely).

I've had the opportunity to play through the singleplayer campaign, and I must say I quite enjoyed most of it. I did, however, find the "No Russian" mission somewhat distasteful - an unnecessary component of the game. I'm still waiting for some kind of fixes to be made to the disastrous PC multiplayer mode before I purchase my own copy.

The problem with forcing a player to massacre the airport was just that. They force you to.
You know you're doing something completely wrong that has absolutely nothing to do with the retarded excuse for a story, and there's no way at all to circumvent it, such as shooting them all in the back or while you're in the elevator (two of them have God mode on, ffs), and that is what makes it hilariously funny and the best part of the boring, repetitive campaign that was otherwise almost completely recycled from CoD2007.

Wasn't there a way where you could skip that mission, not a cheat or something, but a menu item.

But lets be frank here, it is a game... doing that isn't really any different to going on Gmod, spawning a load of civilian NPC's then shooting them all... there's no names, most of the models are just repeats and seriously, again, IT IS A GAME!

That is all :)

Yes, it is a game. I'm not condemning the game because of that mission. It's the context of the mission that I find somewhat unsettling. You are a terrorist. You slaughter dozens, if not hundreds, of screaming NPCs in cold blood. I just find it discontenting when people don't even flinch at what players are doing in that level. Welcome to our desensitised world.

Grand Theft Auto.

Seriously. All this hype about going around with a gun in an airport shooting civilians. Yet who hasn't gone onto their console or PC with a GTA game and just driven around shooting people for lulz?

It's a game you wimp.

Like, think of killing people.

But you're not killing people.

You know what's funny? The ads said that it was the most anticipated game of the decade.

No, that's it, that's my whole joke. Doesn't need the punchline.
