Some people have problems loading maps locally with rpgxEF. I'm working on this bug. In the meanwhile you can start a dedicated lan server with the map and connect to it.

I'm attempting to exec a linux rpgxEF server on centOS 5.4, and I'm getting the following error:

./rpgxEFded.i386: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by ./rpgxEFded.i386)

Any insight is appreciated. :)

How do i start a dedicated server to play it? I can't even join online servers, becasue they crash at the same point. At the bottom it says - Rpg-x 2.2 beta 2.1 Munich x - Is that what it should be?

Either download the dedicated server executable, or use the in-game menus to create a server.

Where do I find the pak5_beta8_1_x.pk3 File? I cannot seem to find it.

You can find the link to "old releases" for rpgxVM on the release page here: http://downloads.hen...pment Releases/

You have to install glibc version 2.4.

Is vEF/ioEF work stopping until a major release or all together from now on?

The first one. Actually that is not far I just have one or two things I want done before the next release RPG-X for vEF/ioEF. In the meanwhile releasing recent changes for rpgxEF once they are done is a good way to find mayor bugs before the next vEF/ioEF release.

You have to install glibc version 2.4.

Thanks, I thought as much. But I wanted to make sure it wasn't a bug. :)

I've added a buildin SQL client based Mysql Connector C-Api.
This opens the possibility to do SQL based operations from inside the gamecode.

Possible uses include userlogins over a userdatabase and advanced rights management for the rpgxEF version of RPG-X.

Yowza... Client or Server side? And would this have to be manually operated or done through a UI?

Serverside only. For now there are only commands but an UI is of course planned.
As the database will have to be on a separate mysql server it's of course possible to edit userdata and rights over other ways (webinterface, phpmyadmin, ...). Also the user DB might contain email adresses for users so a password reset/change system could be created.

Ah right... so you'd need a full server not just to run it from a PC... this is kinda going to bugger me up :P

You can set up and run a mysql server (subsequently a database and user) off of your own computer.

GSI001, this simply awesome news. :D I've always thought that having a userlogin would be an amazing enhancement to RPG-X.

Modifying q3map2 is a little bit tricky that's why this is taking so long. I don't want to change it blindly as long as I don't fully understand how it exactly works and what limits might be changed savely without loosing compability to the engine.

Would be interesting if you could get rpgxEF to work with a sqlite database. Flat files are more easily portable.
