New version released

It would be nice to just say screw it and make all the limits like 23857486938045.

But then that would be hard to optimize. :(

Yes it would be hard.

Might be handy to put in version numbers in the archive's names . . .

Bloom was... interesting. With the default settings, it seemed to be overstated, especially with the LCARS. I don't know much about the settings, but so far I've discovered that increasing the sample size helps (I maxed it out at 400) and I lowered the intensity to 0.2; maybe somebody who knows what they're doing can find the sweet spot. I didn't touch any of the other settings yet.

Bloom definitely makes the ceiling lights feel more realistic.

I just downloaded the newest one and I was all like oh wait I use 64. Now it won't load anything like at all.

Any chance you can make a 64 bit version?

This one works, but I think the last one didn't for me because I forgot to download the separate pk3. The bloom is nice at a glance, but I wonder if it would be possible to incorporate the features of: http://forums.urbant...-bump-test-map/

That is on my list but not on top as it'll be quite time consuming. At the moment I'm working on the implementation of gimhael's Vertex Buffer Object rendering patch he released for tremfusion into rpgxEF, which is quite a huge job as EF has much more rendering functions that have to be adjusted then tremfusion has.

Additional surfaceparms would be awesome (grass, snow, etc.).

You have become a super genious but were so overjoyed about that that you have lost that intelligence so that you are just as dumb as the rest of the development team and regular members which off course does not includes me but as I said pretty much everyone here . . .

haha ... very funny

Have done a bit more work to it: white = world, red = brushentities, yellow = mesh(md3), blue = mdr model, orange = anything that isn't world and nothing of the rest metioned (UI for example)

Well another update...

I was just able to install new Nvidia drivers on my MacBook which I never was able before. This opened me the opportunity to test a Framebuffer patch I ran accross some time ago (OpenGL had problems compiling GLSL shaders with the older official Apple driver).

As it turned out this patch works fine I'll include it in the next release, this means you'll have the choice between the old bloom effect (r_bloom 1) and the new one (r_ext_frambuffer 1, r_ext_frambuffer_bloom 1) if your GPU supports GLSL and all other needed OpenGL extensions. The GLSL bloom shader of course creates a much better bloom effect compared to the old one.

There is also a second Framebuffer effect included, namely a rotoscope effect.

Stay tuned. Screenshots follow soon.
