I guess you can call this constructive procrastination.

I decided to take a quick break from the MDR exporter and try out this idea I've had a for a while. Since it's basically a copy n paste job from the games handle system, it was really quick to set up.

So here we go, as an extension of the Instant Messaging icons system, you can now add contact details from your Facebook, Twitter and/or Digg accounts. :)

In the converging technologies setting of Web 2.0, I figured that these kinds of service sites are just as important as instant messaging.... and that the two probably would complement each other nicely in the forum postbits and user profile pages. :)

In any case, like all the other decked out stuff on this forum, at the moment, it's basically just a test of a concept.

Please let me know what you think, and if there are any suggestions (or any other sites?) you'd think would work here as well.

With a bit more detail, I'm also thinking of packaging this thing up and putting it on vBulletin.org. :)

Thanks!

Is there any way to de-activate them, as in choosing not to display someone's icons ??

Um... now that you mention it.... I don't know. :o

Huh... I always assumed it was under the Settings page in the User CP.

Hmm, I guess I'll have to do some digging in the source code...

Any particular reason you want to disable those? The postbit width isn't still screwing up on your browser is it?

Unfortunately, it still does plus and since I don't use any of those programs, I really can't be bothered with that many bells & whistles on how I can reach someone . . .

Facebook is just awful.

Other than that, good idea.
