IoCow is a fork of the latest version of ioquake3 engine source with Thilo's ioEF patches applied to it and some custom modifications.

New stuff:
- ioCow doesn't look inside Application Data or AppData/Roaming any more, it was causing more problems than it's worthd
- Number of console lines that can be simultaneously displayed increased (reimplemented).
- All ioquake3 improvements.
- VoIP (voice chat)

Change /con_notifyspeed to increase the time console messages stay on-screen.

<removed>

Escapedturkey dedicated server users, beware:
You need to rename iocow2ded.i386 to iostvefded-1.37.i386, otherwise it will not work. Also, do not forget to give it execution permissions (using chmod). -rwxr-xr-x should be fine.

VoIP info/troubleshooting:
Additional info: http://svn.icculus.o...voip-readme.txt
To speak, /bind q +voiprecord and press q to record. This will only work on servers with voip enabled (like my own, 208.43.65.163).

If you see no speech bar or can't you hear other players, please follow these steps;
- download openal and install it: http://connect.creat...ads/oalinst.zip
- confirm that /cl_voip is set to 1
- check your /rate, it must be 25000 or higher for VoIP to work
- if it still doesn't work, check what ---- Sound Init ---- says after startup (scroll up in the console)

I'm afraid it won't let me join any servers. It stops when they're done loading. When I quit, I got a message about VM_ui or something like that.

Holy (io)cow, VoIP DOES work!
Now let me compile a linux dedicated server binary so we can use it (because the server will require the new binary for VoIP to work).

Does this release allow me to decrease chat lines to that of current EF?

I'd like to reap the benefits of this patch, but my vision is not that great so I didn't download ioCow originally.

Benefits = you can communicate to others with voice now (at least, if your server supports it). The chat lines were increased not decreased :confused:

But I remember from your screenshot that 11 lines were displayed taking the same space as the usual 3

I'd like ioCow, but I can't read 11 tiny lines without moving very close to the screen which would bother me.

The linux dedicated server binary is available now (check the original post). Vanilla EF or older ioEF/ioCow clients will still be able to connect to the server.
