EFCS is a realism mod for Elite Force. The main game type will be bomb defusion, but there aren't any finished any maps for it yet, so we'll stick with TDM for a while.

As base, I've been using the source code of the enhanced ioEF-compatible game libraries by Thilo, then I ported the bomb defusion gametype from the CStrike Mode mod by CyberGeek and CaptG into it. Also, the weapon models are not original work, they were created by DJ Kryptic. Yes, do I have permission to use them. The de_dust-like map on the following screenshots was made by SimmerALPHA, but ain't completed yet.

The current features are:
  • a complete new gametype
  • holomatch-style stuff removed (like rotating/floating items and damage feedback)
  • locational damage (headshots, for example)
  • iron sights
  • weapon reloading
  • weapon dropping
  • semi-automatic fire
  • recoil
  • ...and a lot of other stuff I forgot about
Once completed, the source code will be available too.

I've been wanting to see some of those things in EF for a long time now. Glad to hear the source code will be released when finished; the original Holomatch could benefit from some of that realism.

EF could do with a complete refival of online play (apart from RP's)

You'll be disappointed though, it's not even close to a beta release. And don't dare to even file bug reports lol. For those who expect more quality: wait until an official (beta) release.

I poked around in the Configure Controls menu but couldn't find anything that explained how to reload, drop weapons, etc.

The UI elements for these features aren't implemented yet :). You can try this though:
/bind r reload
/bind g drop
/bind b ui_dynamicmenu
and to look through the sights press the zoom button
But this isn't a release.

i agree too
looks nice so far


If u need some help on the models, i could make some changes
adding helmets/caps new textures some details
