I'm pleased to announce the release of our biggest edition yet, for Summer 2011!

Highlights include, an interview with Cryptic Studios' Dan Stahl, Exclusive Fleet News, Reports from SFC/SFHQ and the Departments & Divisions, the creation of UFPlanets.com and a host more.

This will be a new breed of Herald's to come as we see a move to a quarterly rather than monthly release. With this we can put more time and care into each edition, and have a continuous stream of major interviews with leading Star Trek figures.

The Herald page has also been updated to fall in line with the new look of the website.

Look out for the next edition in October, but in the mean time, enjoy this 62 page Herald!

We've returned to Green Alert now that the initial festivities and excitement of Season 4 has passed.

Stay tuned for more information about our upcoming new SRP to replace the well-received Star Trek: Endeavour.

Hello, I have a question about {UFP} as a prospective applicant...

From what I've researched, most RPG-X groups/communities/etc do not prohibit members from joining other RPG-X groups (as RPG-X is not technically a competitive gaming environment). Therefore, I would like to ask what {UFP}'s policy is on membership in other RPG-X communities?

Hello Rassilon

You're correct in that most RPG-X groups do not prohibit cross group membership, however at the {UFP} we support a wide variety of games and activities. Whereas often times sharing members exclusively within the RPG-X community remains largely without issue (albeit not entirely), as a fleet we had to make the difficult but necessary decision to maintain a multi-clan policy across our entire community, which is pretty standard amongst gaming clans. This cut down on many issues we were previously encountering, and got rid of a lot of red tape and bureaucracy which would have been difficult for us to maintain and oversee.

While this may seem restrictive, our members are still free to participate in any public gatherings or games hosted by other RPG-X groups. On top of which UFP membership continues to provide a great and diverse experience after almost 10 years of supporting nothing but Star Trek games.

If you have any further questions feel free to get in touch :)
I can also often be found on our TeamSpeak 3 server at ts.ufplanets.com if you'd prefer verbal communication.

Well, in that case, I am no longer interested in becoming a member of the {UFP}.
Thank you for your prompt answer though.

Just a little bump to this thread as well... it hasn't had one in quite a few years.

The UFP and specifically Starfleet Harriers is still actively recruiting for various areas of roleplay, be it STO RP, forum based RP, or the best of the best, RPG-X.

STMeridianLogo_zps36491385.png

Currently running Star Trek Meridian, an exciting new SRP which follows the crew of the Starship Aurora, in her never ending journey to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to bold go where no man has gone before... but with a few twists.

Develop your character to new levels as you battle against the Romulan Empire, go head to head with the Q Continuum, and watch as some of the most decelerated Captains within Starfleet fall from the heavens.

Currently in need of a Chief Medical Officer and various Junior Officers

For more information PM myself or check out the Meridian forums here.
