I just wanted to share probably my favorite RP ever with the wider community. If anyone has read the book Sphere by Michael Chrichton, we borrowed a lot of elements from it.
The characters in this RP were:

Ensign Wendaltz: Helm
Ensign Nicholas: Security
Ensign Brycen: Science
Cadet 1st Class Ross: Engineer
Crewman Ryan: Medical

Write up is by Alex Wendaltz right after the RP took place (some minor edits by myself):

This rag tag band of misfits woke up for the night shift, only to find that the rest crew was missing. We scanned the entire ship, looked over the logs, and discovered that the ship was locked down, and the crew was not on the ship. One by one we bypassed the lock-outs on the systems and eventually set a course for Starbase 15 as it was the closest. Along the way, strange things had happened, one crew member's story didn't match the others, things appeared to happen, that were not possible, and finally it was discovered. An Alien Artifact, discovered by the crew the night before they all disappeared. After dealing with the Borg, French speaking Klingons, and other oddities. The doctor, thinking it all to be a dream, shut down the core and ejected it after dropping us from warp. We were forced to stun him, and after doing so Ross quickly got the core back inside and started up, quicker than a whole team of Engineers could in fact. Freakish things like these lead us to believe that it was our wishes that made such things come true. We then discovered it later to be fact, the only conclusion was that the Alien artifact is what caused this phenomenon to occur. We figured the only way to get the crew back, was to wish them back. At first it proved challenging, as we could only focus on how the Chiefs of our sections all teased and picked on us....how we all wished to be the one ones in charge. Then we began to focus on the good. A plan was thrown into action. Nicholas loaded the pyramid into an empty torpedo casing, Ryan made a log of the events and backed it up on every system, Ross did something important, Brycen kept his eyes open for the crew, and I got us to the closest Micro worm hole.

They spent their time thinking about the crew, remembering funny moments, and surprise birthday parties, and the young helmsmen remembering a captain, who always kept them safe, who he had watched and learned from. The crew finally returned and the Artifact was launched into the wormhole, and the micro wormhole was collapsed, with the final wish it granted, to be destroyed.

It was one of my favorite RPs ever. Scooter's "Food for Thought" thread reminded me of it because it is one of my favorite non-combat RPs.
